On Tuesday I got two postcards: one from Germany and one from Spain.
The card from Germany shows the love locks on the Hohenzollern Bridge in Cologne. The Hohenzollern Bridge is a railway and pedestrian bridge over the river Rhine. It was built between 1908 and 1911 and was one of the most important bridges in Germany during World War II, until it was blewn up by the German military to prevent it from be used by the Allies during their assault on Cologne in March 1945. Until 1959 it was rebuilt. Today it is the most heavily used railway bridge in Germany and since 2008 love locks are placed on the bridge.
