Singapore: Singlish

On 8th October I got nine postcards: two from Singapore, one from Japan, four from Germany and two from Slovenia.

One of the cards from Singapore shows various Singlish phrases. Singlish is a creole language spoken in Singapore. Its words mainly originate from English, Malay, Hokkien, Teochew, Cantonese and Tamil. The government and the upper-class of Singapore discourage the use of Singlish.

Stamps:
Desserts (from set of two) (issued 18-09-2015)
It is a joint issue with Thailand.
Traditional Biscuits (from set of six) (issued 25-03-2015)
with the ninth of twelve slogan postmarks celebrating Singapore's 50th anniversary of independence

Thank You very much Candice!
